Time for a Recharge

Summer was hot in DC. Despite the heat—or maybe because of it—I've been staying busy preparing for what autumn has in store. That includes monitoring ongoing projects that ANC 1C has advised on, as well as election day: I'm excited to share that I'm running for a third term to represent ANC 1C03 in Adams Morgan.

Election season is a good time to chat with neighbors and learn what's working and what needs to be fixed in local government. I try to do this regularly and plan on continuing voter outreach through November 5 and beyond. If we haven't spoken recently, send me a message and let me know what's on your mind. Complaints are welcome, but I'm especially interested in hearing some of the positive things going on!

Speaking of complaints: if you've recently tried accessing the official ANC 1C website but something looked off, you're not alone. Due to unexpected software changes, we've been having some backend issues with the website's content management system. If you or someone you know if able to help, please let me know.

Thank you to everyone who signed my ballot access petition; because of your support, my name will be on your ballot for re-election in this year's November 5 general contest

Now let's look back at August 2024, preview September 2024, meet our organization + business in focus, and see this month's video briefing.

WHAT WE DID
  • ANC 1C had a recess from official 1C meetings, which includes committees

  • Signed follow-up letter strongly urging a 911/OUC task force is created and 911 response issues are resolved immediately

  • Signed letter addressing BEGA guidance on ANC sign-on letters

  • Included on ANC Rainbow Caucus' 2024 candidate list

WHAT'S UP NEXT
  • September 4: ANC 1C general meeting (agenda here, link to attend here)

  • September 8: Adams Morgan Day will take place throughout the neighborhood

  • September 21: the 50 States Ride will guide cyclists throughout dozens of DC neighborhoods, including Adams Morgan

  • Ongoing: I am organizing with residents and commissioners regarding issues at residential properties controlled by UIP Property Management

    • If you've had problems while living in a UIP property and we haven't already spoken, please send me a message
